CIVIC LEADER AND DISTINGUISHED ARTIST TO BE HONORED

Mr. Bernard S. Clendenin, a Playa del Rey master of fine art, will appear Saturday, November 12, at the Marriott Courtyard Hotel from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Art lovers and followers of Mr. Cledenin's career are invited as guests.

Clendenin's oils, particularly of ladies, have been described as daringly breathtaking." He claims, "Nothing shocking..." Fifty of them, a rainbow of his life's achievements, will be displayed at this "Meet the Artist Presentation."

Bernard is a civic pioneer. Besides having run the technical Art Department concerning Missiles and Satellites for Douglas Aircraft, TRW, Aerospace Corp. and Litton, he led the move and won the court order that made it possible for people of color to become firemen in the county and city of Los Angeles.

Norman Rockwell took an early interest in Clendenin, who studied with several famed artists, including William McNulty, John Corbino, Robert Beverly Hale, Julian Levi, and Frank Reilly, primarily at Art Students League of New York. He has been exhibited in many parts of the world. A preview of his oeuvre may be seen at www.artinvenice.com/clendenin and www.venicelifestyle.com.

Screenwriter Arlene Clendenin, Bernard's wife, who is Administrative Assistant to the Associate Dean of the School of Film and Television at Loyola Marymount University, will host the event. It will be at 13480 Maxella, Marina del Rey. More information, toll free, (877) 821-2282
